Child Safety Policy

Togetherlee is a private family communication and organization app created by Jason and Megan Skidmore. This Child Safety Policy explains how we help keep children safe on Togetherlee, the tools available to parents and guardians, and how we respond to reports of inappropriate content. It supplements our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

1. Our Commitment

We are committed to providing a safe, private environment for families. Togetherlee is not a public social network — content is only ever visible to members of a user's own family space. We have a zero-tolerance approach to child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and to the exploitation, grooming, harassment, or endangerment of minors. We build safety tools into the app, review reports promptly, and take action on content and accounts that violate our policies.

2. Age Requirements

We ask for a date of birth during signup and apply the following rules:

• 13 and older: May create and manage their own account.
• Under 13: May not create their own account. A child under 13 may only use Togetherlee through an account created and managed by a parent or guardian, who is responsible for that account.

Every person signing up must confirm that they are 13 or older, or that a parent or guardian is completing the signup on the child's behalf. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.

3. Parental Controls

For accounts belonging to users under 18, a parent or guardian can manage safety settings under More → Parental Controls:

• Disable location sharing: Turns off all location collection and sharing for the account.
• Restrict direct messaging: Limits the child to the family group chat only, with no one-on-one conversations.
• Require post approval: Holds the child's feed posts for review so they are not visible to other family members until approved.

A parent or guardian who manages a child's account can also review, edit, and delete the child's content and delete the account at any time.

4. Content Reporting

Any user can report content they believe is inappropriate. To report a feed post or a message, long-press it and choose "Report Inappropriate Content." Reports are sent directly to our team for review. You can also email us at support@togetherlee.app to report a safety concern or a child-safety emergency.

5. How We Handle Reports

We review reported content within 24 hours. Depending on the outcome of our review, we may remove the content, warn or suspend the account responsible, or permanently remove the account. In cases involving child sexual abuse material or an imminent threat to a child's safety, we will preserve relevant information and report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and/or law enforcement as required or appropriate under applicable law.

6. Data Protection for Minors

Data belonging to minors is protected the same way as all Togetherlee data: it is stored using Google Firebase services in the United States, encrypted in transit and at rest, and isolated to the user's own family space so it is never visible to the public or to other families. We do not sell personal information, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not display ads in the app. A parent or guardian may request access to, correction of, or deletion of a child's personal information, or revoke consent for further collection, by contacting us.
